I’m a mother of two kids who I believe are the most beautiful in the world. I love to take pictures of them all the time and share them with family and friends. I know that once I post them online, pretty much anyone can get hold of them. As much as I hate to admit this, there is very little I can do about that.
We ALL know that baby Roe is just the cutest little chunker out there, thanks to the gorgeous photos Jackson himself chooses to share with us, and also via paparazzi shots of the family out and about. While I admit to looking at these pics, I refuse to share them.
Then, on FB I see ‘people’ have made a collage to celebrate baby Roe’s 4 month birthday. Awww, cute I hear you say… NO!
How is right for them to crop both Jackson and Sheila out of these pictures? Tis is NOT their baby, it’s someone else’s. How would they feel if someone they don’t know did that with pictures of their kids? If someone did it with mine, I would go apeshit!
I ‘admire’ the guy from afar, and have fantasised about HIM, but to involve a baby? Nu uh. Also, having pics of Jackson and Roe as either your profile or Cover photos is just as wrong. This is NOT YOUR family. Find a real man and create your own miracle.
Not only can you download the first single off his solo album, there are some very cool links. Go, have a play and click on stuff.
I wanted to get my mini review of Jackson’s new song out the way before I had a whinge (it’s been too long I feel)
Yes, Jackson has released new music (Finally!) but to see people saying 100 Monkeys are dead… NO!
DO you still listen to their music? Does their music still evoke emotive responses from you? Do you still tell people about 100 Monkeys? If you answer yes to any of these questions, then they are far from dead, they live on in their music and your memories.
To take wise words spoken by a good friend (anyone tell Ellie that I called her wise gets a slap, she doesn’t need to know that shit), when Elvis died, did people stop listening to his music? No, if anything, people buy MORE! When John Lennon was shot, did the Beatles whither and die? HELL NO! They spawn new fans with every generaton (I’m not a big fan, but that’s a different conversation), when Freddie Mercury died, did people stop raving about how amazing Queen were?
I think you get the picture. Just because a band split, or someone passes, does not mean that the band is dead. It may be no more as a physical entity, but their music is still available to buy and listen.
So, do me a favour, focus on the positives, not the fact that they don’t exist as a band anymore!
I have a confession to make. I was starting to get over my ‘obsession’ (Oh how I hate that word) with Jackson as he moved out of the public eye to concentrate on his gorgeous family.
Then he tweeted about his new album… A dart of fear ran through me like I’d been doused in ice water. What if I didn’t like it? What if I thought it was utter rubbish?
This morning, I awoke to the link posted on my FB wall (thank you Lisa AND Millie). I opened it with trepidation and after nearly passing out from the header photo (It’s like he KNOWS), I reluctantly pressed play…
Fear left my body as soon as I heard his voice. How is it that he (and only HE) can write a song about an Amish band (during Rumspringa from what he’s said on Twitter) and make it work. Not only is the sound very different to what we are used to, it still sounds VERY him. He’s the most versatile artist I have ever known, and this is yet another fascinating facet to the puzzle that is @JacksonRathbone.
"We’ve only got our faith" is something that sounds very personal to him, which is something he did a lot in his music with 100 Monkeys (Prayer, made of Gold to name just 2) and I love that he gives a little bit of himself everytime he produces his art.
The whole track sounds extremely polished (Yay, welcome back Scott) and is the perfect debut release to leave us wanting more! So, Jackson, when’s the album out?
The cover art is amazing too! Not helping with my “prediliction” with boots really.
Remember that one time Jerad planked?
… and the biggest member of the band sat on him!
Yesterday morning I woke up to more pap pics of Jackson and his adorable family. I will say this, that baby needs to be a in a pushchair a little more… but that’s by the by.
The honest to God highlight of all these pics are the couple of Jackson and Sheila sharing a little smooch. It made me beam my crazy Jacksonite head off. I can guarantee that the idiotic haters will be thinking up rubbish to say the pictures were fake or a set up. Get over yourselves.
This family is happy, why can’t you accept that? Oh yeah, it’s not you… Grow up and find someone else to stalk.
