I have a confession to make. I was starting to get over my ‘obsession’ (Oh how I hate that word) with Jackson as he moved out of the public eye to concentrate on his gorgeous family.
Then he tweeted about his new album… A dart of fear ran through me like I’d been doused in ice water. What if I didn’t like it? What if I thought it was utter rubbish?
This morning, I awoke to the link posted on my FB wall (thank you Lisa AND Millie). I opened it with trepidation and after nearly passing out from the header photo (It’s like he KNOWS), I reluctantly pressed play…
Fear left my body as soon as I heard his voice. How is it that he (and only HE) can write a song about an Amish band (during Rumspringa from what he’s said on Twitter) and make it work. Not only is the sound very different to what we are used to, it still sounds VERY him. He’s the most versatile artist I have ever known, and this is yet another fascinating facet to the puzzle that is @JacksonRathbone.
“We’ve only got our faith” is something that sounds very personal to him, which is something he did a lot in his music with 100 Monkeys (Prayer, made of Gold to name just 2) and I love that he gives a little bit of himself everytime he produces his art.
The whole track sounds extremely polished (Yay, welcome back Scott) and is the perfect debut release to leave us wanting more! So, Jackson, when’s the album out?

Yesterday morning I woke up to more pap pics of Jackson and his adorable family. I will say this, that baby needs to be a in a pushchair a little more… but that’s by the by.
The honest to God highlight of all these pics are the couple of Jackson and Sheila sharing a little smooch. It made me beam my crazy Jacksonite head off. I can guarantee that the idiotic haters will be thinking up rubbish to say the pictures were fake or a set up. Get over yourselves.
This family is happy, why can’t you accept that? Oh yeah, it’s not you… Grow up and find someone else to stalk.
